This wine is more than an excellent product; it makes part of a project of the Jorge Ordóñez winery in collaboration with the prestigious oenologist José Luis Chueca, author of Garnacha wines from the Alto Moncayo winery, the Breca winery and Alistair Gardner.
The challenge proposed by this winery has been a production of 100% Garnacha wine from the Sierras de Málaga, PGI. The grapes come from vineyards in Ronda, at about 700 metres above sea level, of an average age of 25 years undergoing an organic viticulture certification process. The local climate is continental, with important temperature differences between night and day, between summer and winters. The soil is sandy, composed of clay and silt. The grapes are harvested in mid-September, handpicked and transported in boxes of 10-15kg into the winery where they go through a rigorous manual selection process.
The 2011 vintage was awarded with 91 points by Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Winery, as well as 88 points in Guía Peñín 2014
Andalusian Red Wine.
